English translation:

MARKETING OF LTI Ana Simonian, the president of global sales and marketing of LTI, answers our questions.

Ana, tell us what changes have occurred at LTI in recent times?

Saratoga Partners, an investment company, headquartered in New York, acquired the Xenon cinema business from Philips Lighting in November of 2016. Philips made the decision to focus on solid state lighting business and exit the cinema business. The business has been named Lighting Technologies International LLC (LTI) and is a major manufacturer of xenon arc lamps for digital cinema projectors used in the worldwide cinema exhibition industry. LTI has approximately 220 employees located primarily in Baldwin Park, California, near Los Angeles. The LTI management team and all employees have kept their positions and transitioned over to the newly created company.

I am the President of Global Sales and Marketing. I’m helped by a team of six account and sales managers.

Curt Glover, President of Operations, manages LTI’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality functions.

LTI has three sales offices: in North America, China and Germany.

LTI’s products are certified by four OEMs (Sony, Barco, NEC, IMAX), and provide the longest warranties in the industry on a number of lamps. Currently, LTI is a global, leading supplier of xenon lamps for (Digital) Cinema ranked #2 in USA and #3 worldwide.

What are the benefits of being independent?

I will list briefly: - Flexibility, speed, quick response to changing market needs - More investment in capital equipment and new technologies – such as laser - More focus on cinema industry vs. global lighting market - The spirit of entrepreneurship and openness to new offers.

Where is the plant for production of xenon lamps located?

Our modern factory is located in Baldwin Park, California, near the Los Angeles. Our factory, certified by ISO standard 14001 and OHSAS standard 18001, 100% focused on xenon technologies for the cinema industry. Development, production, quality control, sales and marketing - everything is in one place.

When did LTI enter the Russian market? How do you assess the potential of the Russian market?

Philips LTI entered the Russian market in 2014. We are considering Russia as one of the fastest growing movie markets in the world. There are currently more than 4800 digital screens functioning and Russian cinema market is already one of the ten biggest ones in the world, being No. 1 in Europe by attendance, and with the annual growth of number of screen being second, after only China. The Russian government supports the growth of the cinema industry throughout the entire Russia. Modernization of the Russian economy creates new opportunities for the suppliers in this sector.

LTI offers a complete lineup of digital cinema lamps, tested and certified by Barco, NEC, Sony and IMAX. We can offer Russian cinemas significant savings in total cost of ownership with our constantly expanding line of LongPlay xenon lamps with extended warranty hours.

Our modern plant in Los Angeles uses the latest technologies and materials for production of xenon lamps with world class level of quality and productivity.

What official distributors do you work with in Russia?

MFT RUS LLC and MD Technology.

MFT RUS LLC: 194034, St. Petersburg, Bolshoy pr. V.O., d. 18 A, office 330. Tel.: 8 (812) 309-75-67 E-mail: info@mft-rus.ru Website: www.mft-rus.ru

MD Technology: 119333, Moscow, Leninsky Prospect 53, str. 5 Tel .: 8 (499) 132-60-22, 8 (499) 132-62-88 E-mail: office@md-tech.ru Website: www.md-tech.ru

How does LTI see the future for xenon cinema lamps?

The market is strong - alternative technologies didn’t influenced it much yet. The need for xenon cinema lamps will remain stable for at least 10 years, depending of course on the power of the lamps and the size of the auditorium. We expect that the majority of theaters with the light sources of 4 kW and above, will gradually move to the laser technology, but the need for xenon lamps will remain sustainable, especially in consideration of low operating costs.

There are also new technologies available, such as LED screens, but we believe that this will only add confusion in process of choosing the most economically efficient solution and will delay the adoption of the new technologies

Are there any technical improvements expected in the area of xenon cinema lamps?

Yes, we are always working on the ways to further increase the lifetime of our lamps and to reduce their costs. This will complicate replacement of xenon lamps and their displacement from the market by alternative technologies, especially in low power applications.

Our research laboratories equipped with modern equipment, which is a key factor in achievement of set goals and business strategy in general.

LTI successfully focused on reducing the costs through automation of processes to ensure competitive prices worldwide, while preserving the unique quality of its products and offering the highest level of service.

We developed key technologies in the area of processing of materials and processes, which increase the productivity and reduce production costs.

Does LTI work on other technologies that can replace xenon lamps?

We are considering the possibilities of laser technology, in which LTI can replace xenon lamps in certain applications. But only where it makes economic sense. We developed a prototype system with main technologies that can be extended to all projector platforms and we plan to start production of our laser based products in 2019.
